Mickman's is one of the sponsors for Miss Coon Rapids and not only are they very generous to the scholarship program but they also provide numerous fun appearances for the titleholders throughout the year. I was invited to be part of their spring celebration on Friday. My mom and I took a tour of their greenhouse and saw how much work they put in for all of the tiny, growing plants. It was a breath of fresh air to see some green growth despite the wintery weather that is still lingering around Minnesota! I am lucky to have a committee that makes my time in Coon Rapids beyond memorable! Completing the paperwork for Miss Minnesota was so much fun. The committee was very helpful about reminding me about my best qualities and attributes to present the best paperwork possible for the judges! After my paperwork was done, I spent some quality time at MOA looking for the perfect interview dress and day dresses for during the week. I am lucky to have a core group of people that has my best interest at heart and keeps me laughing throughout the whole process! Sunday was Brianna's send off for the Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen pageant. She is such a vibrant, well spoken and caring individual. We have the best time together at our appearances and have bonded over our mutual love of cake, although I think her love is directed more towards the frosting. :) It was a great chance for her to show off her wardrobe and talent for the pageant. I am so proud of her and all of the adventures we have had together so far this year!

It was time for one of my most favorite fundraisers of the year... National Pancake Day for the Children's Miracle Network! To be fair, any event that partners with CMN is usually my favorite, but the combination of pancakes seems to add some major excitement and enticement to get people out to their local IHOPs. My original goal was to make a quick trip to Coon Rapids to join the community and my sister queen Bree but a small fall during a talent practice seemed to bring lingering effects that needed to be taken care of. The IHOP in Fargo and Sanford Children's Hospital were generous enough to welcome me in my home community to join their fundraising efforts. I always love the events that allow me to connect with the amazing girls vying for the title of Miss North Dakota. I am fortunate to know some of them from Concordia College. There is just something about strong, powerful Cobbers with crowns on their heads! :) Over $4,500 was raised for the Sanford Children's Hospital in Fargo!! Thank you to everyone who took the time out of your day to scope out an IHOP and donate to the Children's Miracle Network!
