It is so hard to believe that the month of July has almost come and gone already. It feels like the month just started. It has been a busy month and I wanted share some great photos from our 4th of July carnival parade that was held on July 2nd. Was so good to see the members of our Lion's Club who put so much time and effort into making these events successful. I even had the opportunity to do an acapella vocal performance of my talent song "Don't Rain on my Parade" that the band who was performing allowed me to use their equipment. I was able to meet more members of the community, as well as get to see my sister queen, who is now the reigning Miss Minnesota! It was a beautiful night for a parade! A fun night was had by all!!

the time had finally come, the week that I had been prepping so hard for...all of my blood, sweat and tears came down to this week. I had worked my platform, went through many mock interviews, sweeping the floors in my heels to ensure I didn't look like a baby giraffe when it came time to walk across that stage. The week started off with a style show where we could were able to choose any outfit that we wanted to wear for a Fashion Forward outfit, I wore a floral romper with a flowy overlap, after we completed this we were invited to a farewell event for Miss MN OT 2018 Eden Webb and Miss MN 2018 Michaelene Karlene. On Sunday we had the opportunity to go and visit our capital. It was an amazing experience, I also got to have a picnic meal with the other teen contestants! Was so great to get to know them all. Monday was our "official" check-in day. I was so excited to start the week. I had my song down pat, my fitness routine was on point..and had my walk down to a T with my dress....well..except for the time I stepped on the back of my dress and did a face plant...thank goodness for good makeup to cover up my goose egg!! My mom always said I was never the most graceful! Haha!! I want to fast forward to Wednesday when we started our preliminary competitions. I competed in lifestyle and fitness and well as evening gown on this night, I did not win a preliminary award either of these nights but went out and had fun. Thursday night I had the opportunity to share my talent song "Don't Rain on my Parade" and the judges honored me with the preliminary talent award for this night. I was honored to have been chosen for this award. I also won a $150 scholarship for this. Next came finals night..I was so nervous, standing on the stage waiting for my name to be announced...the first name called was for the contestant who was chosen for the People's Choice award....I waited and waited for the name to be called, and then I heard "Miss Coon Rapids OT Hanna Beck". I was overjoyed and excited to be able to continue through the rest of the competition. I was able to compete in all areas of competition once again for the judges. Then the time came where they announced Top 3..my heart was pounding waiting for them to make say the names...again, they called my name. I was so overjoyed that I know there was some tears that snuck out. It finally came time where they were going to announce the winners in order...I just want to take a moment to congratulate Whitni Minton on being chosen as 2nd runner up. And then there was just 2 of us standing...Rachel Luchinsinger and myself.....it felt like an eternity as we stood there holding hands awaiting to see who the winner was. I unfortunately did not walk home with the 2019 title, but was awarded 1st runner up, but I can assure you that I am so proud of myself as last year when I came down to the state competition, I did not even make top 10. I am so thankful for everyone that believed in me and helped me achieve all of this. I walked away with over $750 in scholarships. I want to thank the Miss Coon Rapids scholarship committee in believing in me even when I didn't believe in myself. For always making sure that I was prepped and ready to go..and helping me make sure I was organized (thank you Zay!!) And also to Mark and Zayanne Held for opening your home to my family and I so that we could come down as often as we did to prepare. Before I publish this post, I want to give a shout out to our new Miss MN OT 2019 Rachel Luchsinger, it was so great getting to know you and I can't wait to watch everything you achieve and accomplish in the next year. Also....I just want to say how incredibly proud of my sister queen Kathryn Kueppers I am. She won the title of our new Miss Minnesota 2019. I am so grateful that we were able to be sister queens together. I will never forget our Caribou coffee runs or talks on the phone. Thank you for always believing in me! I can't wait to watch your journey as well as I know that you have worked so hard for it. Once the week came to an end..I know that I left making 13 new friends and a lifetime of experiences!! Can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings!! Stay tuned!!!! Imagine walking across the stage in the perfect dress, it fit you perfectly, it sparkled just like how you wanted it to..and the color...exactly what you were looking for. I can say all of these about my dresses that I had the opportunity to wear on stage just a few weeks ago for state competition. I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with Sarah Moses with The Pageant Shop by Michael's. She was so easy to work with. My committee made an appointment for us all to go and look for dresses for both my talent performance as well as for evening gown competition. I told Sarah what style I was looking for and she helped me find exactly what I was looking for....I also got to look through her entire collection...and let me tell you..there was ALOT of dresses for me to try on. I wanted to share with you the dresses that I chose for competition! Aren't the absolutely stunning?? I had the best day hanging with my committee picking the perfect dresses! If you are in need and looking for a dress, make sure you get in touch with Sarah for all of your dress needs!! I had the opportunity back in March to have my first ever professional head shot with full hair and make up provided for me. I was so blessed to be able to work with Gianna Capuzzi with Hair Cult who is such a gracious sponsor to the Miss Coon Rapids Pageant, as well as now a sponsor for the Miss Minnesota Organziation. She made me feel and look like a million dollars!! She also provided me with styling and make up tips as I was preparing for the State Competition. I also want to give a shout out to John Nelson with Photographycs for doing my amazing head shots and for helping me look top notch as for my "Official" Miss Minnesota Outstanding Teen head shot!!
