Throughout my last year as Miss Coon Rapid's Outstanding Teen, I've been presented with so many opportunities, and they've taught me a lot about life! Here's just a couple of them: From the minute the judges call your name as Miss Coon Rapid's Outstanding Teen, you get a sparkly crown, a brand new sash, and a whole lot of responsibility. From getting paperwork in on time to acting as a role model, representing Coon Rapids is a serious job. Which brings me to next point... Sure, it's a tough job, but that doesn't mean its all serious. Kate and I have so many memories of the last year being goofy and having a good time. You only get 1 year, so you might as well try to have a good time :) Being Miss Coon Rapid's Outstanding Teen has been one of the most amazing things to ever happen to me. I've spent the last year taking opportunities I wouldn't have even thought of before. This title has given me more confidence and ambition than ever before.

The Miss Coon Rapids pageant is 43 days away, but there's still time to get your paperwork in so you can compete this September 19th! In case you're still not sure, here's why you should consider competing! SisterhoodThroughout my year as Miss Coon Rapid's OT, I've been lucky enough to get to know my Coon Rapids counterpart, Kate. These girls have become my sisters, and when I'm in Coon Rapids we spend all of our time together, From mini-golfing (and subsequently getting rained out) to coffee to going on carnival rides, we've done it all. I've also gotten to know and spend time with Alivia, our Coon Rapid's Princess. It's given me the responsibility of being a big sister for the first time, and I wouldn't have it any other way! The Miss Coon Rapid's program has given me a whole family. SupportIf you've ever been to one of the state pageants and wondered "Who are those crazy people with the signs cheering so loudly?" let me clear that up for you: It's #TeamCoonRapids. The directors and the rest of the Miss Coon Rapids program are so supportive of everything their girls do, even if it's outside the immediacy of the pageant world. When you become a Coon Rapid's titleholder, you become a part of a HUGE family that loves to cheer for you. Still not convinced? Check out Kate's post called "As if you need another reason to compete for Miss Coon Rapids... But if you do, here's two!" on her blog!
Kate and I had a blast at the annual Coon Rapids 4th of July Water Carnival! Not only did we get to go through the parade (in convertibles, no less) but we got to meet some of the other local royalty from the surrounding area from different pageant systems, and go on some of the rides at the carnival! Just before the parade took off! and since no appearance is really complete without a selfie, I figured I'd share my mid-parade one with all of you! So glad I got to spend time with my Coon Rapids family while I still can! After all, It won't be long before the pageant!
