Hello, my name is Hannah Mudick and I am honored to be your Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen 2017. I'm very excited to spend the next year representing Coon Rapids. I was born and raised here and am proud to call Coon Rapids my home. I know this is going to be a wonderful year!

It seems like it was just yesterday that I was a little girl staring up at the beautiful Miss Coon Rapids on stage and wondering what it would be like to represent my hometown the way she did. Now as I’m giving up my title as Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen 2016, I’m realising that representing the city of Coon Rapids meant more to me than I ever thought possible. Throughout my year, I’ve continued to grow even closer to the community that I love while meeting new people and experiencing new things will leave an impression for a lifetime. This last year has been amazing, but it would not have been everything it was without the influence of some incredible people.
First and foremost, this pageant would never have even taken place without the dedication and support of the Miss Coon Rapids Pageant Committee. Throughout this year you all have become my second family, and I cannot thank you all enough for your hard work and sacrifices to help put on this fantastic show every year. I honestly can’t imagine what this year would have been like without Marcies hugs or Suzies advice. My teen director Megan has been one of my biggest role models ever since I watch her perform on the Miss Coon Rapids stage. It's been so inspiring getting to know her on a more personal level, to this day she continues to dedicate so much of her time to her passion of helping foster dogs and finding them homes. I hope my future will mirror hers, and I will continue to share her passion of helping others. My director Theresa Leggate has the biggest heart of any person I’ve ever met, she is so full of love for every and any person that surrounds her. She worked tirelessly to ensure my year was filled with fun appearances, an awesome state experience, and endless memories I'll never forget. You might as well start calling me Leah Leggate, because from this year on I will never consider Theresa as anything other than my second mom. Not only did I find a new mom this, but I also found two new sisters. The incredible Miss Coon Rapids Alexis Houle has been my role model throughout this year. You did amazing at the Miss Minnesota Pageant, and I can't wait to see where you'll go in your future! And to my little sister, Miss Coon Rapids Princess Kenzie, you have been one of the biggest delights of my summer. You are a pure ball of joy and light and I'm so excited to see you continue to shine are you grow into a young woman. And of course, I was always happy to spend the day with Junior Royalty sisters and brothers. I don’t know what I would have done without my mom standing by my side and always being there to straighten my crown, or without my dad hustling us both out the door so we would (attempt to) get to every appearance on time. My family has always been so supportive of my pageant ambitions and I am so grateful that they continue to push and support me to achieve my every goal. While he might not have always known what was going on, I can't thank my boyfriend Darek enough for everything he has done for me this year. This year he transformed from a boyfriend to photographer, chauffour, wardrobe consultant, and more than one occasion, a personal therapist. Thanks for being the one person in my life who is almost as crazy as I am. Finally, being Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen would have meant close to nothing without the city of Coon Rapids itself. I had the opportunity to spend time with the North Star Lions Club and Coon Rapids Police and Fire Department throughout this, and I'd like to thank them for all the work they do behind the scenes. I can't imagine how we would run the city without them! Citizens throughout this community have been overwhelmingly supportive, from welcoming me to every city event with open arms, to helping me raise over $2,500 for my platform the American Cancer Society. From We Scare Hunger to my Empty Bowl Project, I’ve always had my community there supporting me. There is no other community in the world that I would rather be apart of. While this may be the last time you hear from me as your Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen, I can't promise it will be the last time you see me on the Miss Coon Rapids stage. Hopefully one day I'll even be writing this as your new Miss Coon Rapids! As for now… For the last time in crown and gown, this is your Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen 2016, Leah Mau |
