I had an amazing experience today at the "Walk A Mile In Her Shoes" Walk to End Domestic Violence this morning in Anoka. This is such an important cause, especially after hearing about so many recent reports of domestic violence cases resulting in the death of innocent local women throughout Minnesota. It's so exciting to see over 500 people attend the walk during it's very first year, not to mention Courtney Monson had her own army walking in her memory. I'm so grateful to have been able to be apart of this event, and I can't wait to be back next year! -Leah

Inspired by Miss Minnesota 2015 - Rachel Latuff herself, I'm starting my own Empty Bowl Project at Coon Rapids High School!
I'm so excited to be able to use one of my favorite hobbies to help make a difference in my community! We're just getting started, but bowls will be sold for $5 a piece or 5 food shelf donations. All proceeds will go directly the the CRHS food shelve which provide meals for students and families across the city of Coon Rapids! -Leah Well I might not have been able to donate blood today at our Annual Spring Blood Drive, but at least I got to volunteer as a donor supporter for the people who could! Thank you to everyone who came out to donate, and a huge thank you to the American Red Cross nurses who were able to help as well! #Savinglivesonepintatatime-Leah
So excited about my newest project that will raise money for the Children's Miracle Network while spreading cancer awareness! The Purple Potty has been making it's way around the city of Coon Rapids, and in one week it has already raised $200! Watch out everyone, you never know where it will end up next 😉 -Leah
I'm beyond excited to announce that Girls of Hope has been rapidly expanding and now has official members in 10 different states and in two Canadian Providences! I'm so grateful I have the opportunity to use my title to make a difference in an organization that has made such an impact on my life ➰#ACS #GirlsofHope -Leah Mau
American Cancer Society: Girls of Hope Who we are, What we do, Why we do it⬇ Created in 2013 by Leah Mau, Girls of Hope is an organization dedicated to uniting women together in the fight against cancer. With over 50 official members located in cities all around Minnesota, Girls of Hope is continuing to grow rapidly. These ladies come from every walk of life, but together they are united and empowered through their mission to spread hope and support to those whose lives have been touched by cancer. Throughout the year Girls of Hope have had the opportunity to create Build-a-Bears for patients at Gillette's Children's Hospital, make over 30 tie-blankets and bake homemade desserts for the residents of the Hope Lodge, and raise funds for the American Cancer Society and the Children's Miracle Network through the use of the Purple Potty Project. Not to mention, we're in the process of setting up a Miracle Bowl Project to raise funds for CMN! Official headshots thank you to Paula Preston Photographer and Gianna Capuzzi for the beautiful photos!
Sent out some cards today to some incredibly strong people fighting cancer. Make it your goal today to remind someone who was touched by cancer how much you appreciate them, it's the little things like those that can make the biggest difference! Thanks again to all the Teen title holders around Minnesota who wrote signed and left notes for these two fighters, you all are truly outstanding ladies! #GirlsofHope
Working hard can be so rewarding! This week I was honored to be recognized on stage for Outstanding Academic Excellence, and I was also selected to be on my high school's Varsity Lacrosse team. It's so important to not only set goals for yourself, but to work hard and exceed them!- Leah
Thanks again to Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen 2015 - Rachel Weyandt for getting all the girls together to help make blankets and bags for her platform, The Heart of Foster Care! You work so hard and you're an amazing representative of the Miss America Program ❤-Leah
