Dear Coon Rapids Community,
I can honestly say my year as Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen has been one of the most rewarding, exciting, and all around well loved years of my life. I could not have asked for a better sister queen than Kayla Brown to assist me on my journey. We have had so many opportunities together to enjoy the love felt within the Coon Rapids Community, at events such as: Snow Flake Days 50th Anniversary; IHOP National Pancake Day for Children’s Miracle Network; Epiphany Church Princess Party; North Star Lions Waffle Breakfasts’; and Fourth of July Festivities throughout town and more. Whether I was speaking at the Lions Club about my platform, “Special Needs; Bright futures” or emceeing the Coon Rapids style show, or even being a part of Sand Creek’s Elementary Sock Hop event. It was all a blast and a delight to represent the Coon Rapids Community, and I will cherish it for a lifetime. I am truly grateful for the amazing people and organizations from within Coon Rapids, which helped make my year as memorable as possible. First, I would like to thank the Coon Rapids community itself for the unconditional support and generosity it has given me. Thank you to the numerous businesses who have contributed financial support, because without you, such a wonderful program and scholarships would not be possible. Next on my list, is to thank the person in my life with the biggest heart, and the kindest of words; Theresa Leggate. I am more than blessed to have such a caring director who always puts others needs before herself. She has never failed to lift my spirit when in hard times, or share a laugh with; I can always count on her to be there for me. In all honestly, she was my rock throughout my state competition. Making sure to always have a positive attitude and being the most excited for me to compete. Thank you Theresa for everything, you are an incredible person with a loving heart. Another thank you to my other director Megan Ehlert for always knowing what is fashion forward and keeping my makeup looking beautiful. It is nice having a director who once herself competed in pageants, she truly knows how to relate and keep me going. Thank you Megan for all your support, you have helped me in tremendous little ways. Big thank you goes out to all those on the Miss Coon Rapids Committee, who are responsible for keeping this pageant running as great as it is. The love and support from all of you is what distinguishes the Coon Rapids Scholarship as one of a kind. Especially certain individuals who have assisted me throughout my amazing reign, to Laurie, Michelle, Marcy, Sue, John, Zayanne, and Teda, you all have been incredible mentors and family of mine. The effort from all of you combined makes for an unforgettable year as your Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen, thank you so much for all that you do. I love you all. This year defiantly could not have been experienced alone, and that is why I have my lovely sister queen – Kayla Brown, Miss Coon Rapids to thank. I am so blessed to have a sister who is so outgoing and understanding at my side, I know our relationship will not be broken only because we do not share the time of wearing our crowns anymore. You are a bright individual with much love for children like myself, which ensures me that you will do extraordinary things in life, and I am glad to have grown a friendship with you like no other. Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank my supportive family and friends. Thank you for always having my back and keeping up with me throughout my year. To my mother, my biggest fan of them all. I love you and appreciate all that you do for me. I am who I am because of you. And none of this could be possible without you there pushing me along the way. Thank you for all you did and continues to do for me. I am blessed to be a part of such an incredible community and to share my excitement for pageantry with others. The opportunities I have been given are more than anything I could ask for, and I know will benefit me for years to come. Thank you Coon Rapids for an unbelievable year, which I will always look back on, with a smile on my face. Yours truly, Brianna Rose Smith Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen 2014 |
