This event was especially fun because I took part in playing bags with my partner Todd. This event was meant to be enjoyable but also beneficial to the scholarship program of which Miss America is all about. In doing this event we raised money to put towards our Coon Rapids scholarships for young women. We had a great turn out this year, and it was nice to spend a gorgeous Minnesota day outside in the sun with friends and family.

Oh the amount of festivities I took part in over the Fourth of July weekend was amazing. Being able to ride along in the huge Coon Rapids parade in my own Cadillac XLR convertible was quite exciting. Oh and knowing how much of a car nut I am, I made a trip over to the Coon Rapids car show. Here I got to see my all time favorite car, the Chevelle ss. After gazing upon beautiful cars and riding in one, I ate tons of delicious fair food, a funnel cake included. Not only did I eat, but my sister queen and I were able to play some bingo. Unfortunately, I did not win on any of boards I played, but Kayla sure came close. I also met much of the Coon Rapids community at the fair, where I ran into my biggest fan, a four year old little girl, named Molly. She is only the sweetest. I also had the opportunity to meet the grandsons of Dino's, the creator of Dino's gyros, which are the best gyros around. After a fun day at the fair, Kayla and I took a trip over to the Coon Rapids fire department to give thanks and visit with our local chief, and have a tour of all the fire trucks. All in all it was the most eventful Fourth of July's yet and it was all worth the while. Thank you Coon Rapids for the love of your community.
Before Miss Minnesota in June, all the Outstanding Teens got together for an exciting day eating and drinking tea all so fancy at the Lady Elegant's Tea Room, with Miss America's Outstanding Teen, Leah Sikes. It was so great to catch up with all the girls I competed with. Along with hang out with our Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen, Lauren Algyer and wish her luck before nationals. I have to say, for never having tea before; my first time was done right with some wonderful ladies and at the best place for delicious tea.
Next on the agenda, after visiting the nursing home, we all went to a carnival where we got to meet and greet with individuals who serve for our country and give thanks. We aso got some pretty neat lanyards and pencils with military logo on it. Including the Army, the Navy, the Marines, and Coast Guard. Kayla and I were lucky enough to sit in the motor vehicles used in service in the army.
After the Princess Party, the Coon Rapids Junior Royalty invited Kayla and I along, to bring cookies to a nearby nursing home. On the way we sang tunes through the hallways in hopes of brightening the guests' day. It was so neat to also speak with the elderly about their past and hear the advice they had to share with us as we all ate cookies together.
One of my favorite events that I get to take part in, are the numerous princess parties Coon Rapids hosts for little girls looking to meet real life dreams. My sister queen and I always enjoy seeing the faces of young girls light up as they see our sparkly tiaras. We always make sure each girl at the party feels special by hanging out with everyone, whether it's playing games, coloring, or dancing, we always have a fantastic time.
I finally got an official photo with my lovely directors and my overall Talent award. So much credit is given to these two women because of their unlimited support in me, which helped make this award possible.
