I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of Coon Rapids Snow Flake days a couple weeks ago, and I have to say, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! The sense of community that surrounds this festival is so uplifting, it was something I’d never seen or felt before. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to sing the National Anthem at the Coon Rapids Junior Royalty competition, as well as help on stage with each contestants speech and crowning. I loved how much emphasis the Coon Rapids Junior Royalty program put on community service, it was something I wish I would have been a part of when I was younger! After the competition Leah and I headed over to the ice rink for the North Stars Alumni game against Guns and Hoses (a team of Coon Rapids fireman and policeman). It was awesome to meet some of the North Stars Alumni, as well as having the opportunity to stand on the ice with them while the Coon Rapids High School hockey team sang the national anthem.
