We have so many people devoting their lives to keeping us safe, happy, and healthy and they don't get thanked often enough.
On Saturday I took some cookies to two of the Coon Rapids Fire Stations to thank them for all they do in the community. They were kind enough to offer me a tour of Station #1 and tell me all about what they do!
It was so interesting to see behind the scenes, especially since I work with firefighters now and then while working as a reporter. I learned more about some of the challenges facing firefighters, such as cancer from carcinogens. I saw some of the neat technology they're able to utilize in their operations, too.
They also let me climb into the big engine and figure out how to turn it on! How fun!
Thank you so much to the Coon Rapids firefighters for all you do. You are truly local heroes!
