I was crowned on November 23, 2013 and it was one of the best days of my life! I had the joy of competing with 8 lovely, talented and intelligent young ladies. I was looking forward to spending time with everyone after having such a wonderful time at the pre-pageant fundraiser a few weeks prior. I started the day with my interview and had a different feeling coming out of the room. It was an interview much different than any other one that I have experienced. Despite the new feeling, I knew that I had been open, honest and sincere in my thoughts and responses and that was my main goal when allowing the judges to get to know me. After a few more run throughs and much anticipation, it was time for the on stage portion to begin! I love being on stage and I was ready to give it my all. I had prepared a new talent piece and was ecstatic to perform for the judges. I invest a lot in my talent by selecting my music, cutting the composition and choreographing the number all myself so it is always thrilling to present the whole shebang! Before I knew it, it was time for evening gown. We were all walking to "Mirrors" by Justin Timberlake, one of my childhood loves since his N*SYNC days, so I was pretty jazzed to flow across the stage in my blue gown. After a whirlwind of a day, the time had come and I found myself standing holding hands with the other phenomenal women who had competed with me. So many emotions ran through me because I wanted this job, this title, so badly and I knew that I was ready for the next year. As my name was called I felt blessed, grateful and humble to have been put in this moment.
I want to thank the community of Coon Rapids for welcoming me immediately and whole heartedly. I am looking forward to becoming a part of this community during the next year. Thank you to the fabulous Coon Rapids committee and volunteers for making this a wonderful pageant for all of us girls. I am beyond thrilled to have joined this family and I know that GREAT things are in store for me.
