In November when I was crowned Miss Coon Rapids I knew that I was in for a wonderful experience but I never expected to fall in complete love with this community and the people in it. This city has touched my life in a truly unexpected way and I am forever grateful for the memories and relationships that were created. I received the warmest welcome and shared in countless community events with my sister queen, Bree.
A community is simply a city without the incredible people that bring it together. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude for some of the extraordinary individuals that not only run the Miss Coon Rapids program, but selflessly give to this community on a daily basis. Theresa Leggate, my mama bear, you have done such an incredible job with this program and without your love and dedication my year would not have been nearly as great! Zayanne and Mark Held, thank you for putting up with all of my quirkiness and giving myself and my parents a place to live whenever we were in town. John and Sue Leggate, you are two of the most inspiring people and without your love and support I would have been lost this year. I am so thankful to not only be your titleholder for the year but truly a forever part of your family! Marcy Carlson, you give the best hugs in the world and are always there to put a smile on my face. Megan, I have loved all of guidance and prep time that we have shared. Your insight and lighthearted personality always allowed us to have a great time while accomplishing things. Julie, Teda, Heather, Becky, Laurie and the other committee members that give their time and efforts to make each girl have the best year of their lives, you each bring such unique qualities and talents to this program and Coon Rapids would not be the legendary program that it is without you. You all go out of your way to make sure that each girl has the most incredible experience and for this I am forever grateful!
Thank you to all of the incredible community groups and organizations that I had the pleasure to work with and be apart of this year. Each and every one of you makes this community special. I feel honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know you. A huge thank you to the sponsors that give back to this program and see the benefit that it brings to young women like myself. Without your support the Miss Coon Rapids program would not be able to present all of the amazing aspects that it does.
“Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.” This lyric could not be more true in describing my year as Miss Coon Rapids. Thank you to everyone for changing my life for the better. This is not good-bye but simply see you down the road. Coon Rapids will always be my second home thanks to each and every one of you.
