Did you miss out on this amazing event? Snowflake Days is just beginning! Join me (with coffee in hand) tomorrow morning as we continue the Coon Rapids Snowflake Days Celebration with the Kids Medallion Hunt. This weekend’s events also include a Pickleball Tournament, Community Sock Hop, and Waffle Breakfast benefiting HOPE 4 Youth. All the details can be found at: http://coonrapidssnowflakedays.weebly.com/snowflake-days-events-at-a-glance.html. I love being able to be a part of the Snowflake Days Celebration, participate in these fun events, and meet my community members. So I hope to see you all this weekend! |
The 51st Coon Rapids Snowflake Days Celebration is officially underway as the kickoff event, the Guns & Hoses Hockey Game, took place last Saturday, January 24. I am by no means a sports enthusiast, although my entire family lives and breathes football, baseball, and hockey, but I had the best time at this event, AND I did not embarrass myself too greatly with my lack of sports knowledge. I was able to not only meet former North Star players such as Henry Boucha, Gordie Roberts, Brad Maxwell, Sean Toomey, and Joe Dziedzic but also take pictures and get autographs... I may have even danced with Henry Boucha, a U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer. I hinted at my love for coffee in an earlier blog (http://misscoonrapidspageant.weebly.com/blog/i-have-some-catching-up-to-do), but I just wanted to make a statement very clear... I love coffee and an event is typically not complete without a cup in hand. This hockey game was no exception, and I had an excuse to buy a delicious, warm French vanilla cappuccino because it was so cold in the arena.
