My favorite part of the weekend was getting to know so many new people. I walked into the competition not knowing anyone, and I left with many new friends and a whole new family of supporters!
Throughout Friday night's rehearsal and all of Saturday, I gave it my all. I channeled my love for the Miss America Organization into all phases of competition. My interview with the judges was so much fun, I had a blast performing my talent, and I felt wonderful in my evening gown. I was so honored to have won the interview preliminary award and tied in talent! It took a while for it to finally sink in when my name was called as Miss Coon Rapids!
I want to thank everyone who made the pageant possible. The entire Miss Coon Rapids committee, the volunteers, the audience, the sponsors, the list goes on. So much work goes into producing a pageant and I'm so grateful for everything. I also want to thank my own supporters, both in the audience and cheering from afar! Congratulations to Callista Wengel on a wonderful year as Miss Coon Rapids 2017.
I have a lot of goals this year involving my platform as well as Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, serving the community of Miss Coon Rapids, and of course competing at Miss Minnesota. Stay tuned for more blog posts on all of those goals.
I am so honored to represent this community throughout the year and at the Miss Minnesota Pageant. I'm also very excited to spend the year with my new teen sister, Annika.
Please keep up with my year as Miss Coon Rapids on social media and here on this blog!
